Anand Panchal (b. 1973, Maharashtra, India) Panchal’s artistic journey is deeply rooted in his childhood experiences within rural landscapes, a theme that remains the core of his creative expression. He pursued his formal education in art at Abhinav Kala Mahavidhyalaya, Pune, where he earned his G.D. Art in Drawing and Painting, followed by a Diploma in Art Education from the prestigious Sir J.J. School of Art, Mumbai.
His series, such as Raan (My Earth), serves as an ode to mother earth, reflecting his deep-seated connection to farming, the seasons, and the elements of nature. While his earlier works focused on the innocence of young children, his more recent series explore the threshold of adolescence, portraying figures with a sense of hesitant beauty as they stand amidst the textures of village life—mud walls, maize plants, and sun-drenched pastures. Through his paintings and sculptures, Panchal seeks to project the aesthetic appeal and amiability he senses in the rural social strata.
