Niladri Paul
Niladri Paul is a contemporary artist whose work is a vibrant celebration of the performing arts, translating the energy of rhythm and sound into pigments and forms. His individualistic style bridges the gap between figurative and abstract art, utilizing unconstrained palettes and maverick lines to explore classical allegories. Grounded in a philosophy of optimism, Paul’s canvases evoke a unique harmony of romantic sensibilities and complex, metaphysical layers. He describes his evolving practice as an ongoing effort to follow his bliss and paint his passion.
Biography
"I would like to call my art experimental, for it is an ongoing evolution of my sensibilities that I endeavor to translate onto my canvases," says Niladri Paul. His work is deeply influenced by a continuing fascination with the performing arts, a complex challenge that requires translating the effervescence of primitive, tangible forces into forceful energy on canvas.
Through an ever-broadening idiom, Paul adds a remarkable dimension of aesthetics to his unconstrained palette and maverick lines. His paintings act as a celebration of eternal, ethereal ideals on a metaphysical level, creating a harmony of romantic sensibilities and inherent optimism. By referencing classical allegories and interpreting them within the current urban milieu, his work reflects the larger-than-life philosophy of living through complex and mysterious layers. This approach spontaneously bridges the gap between figurative and abstract art, evolving into a highly individualistic style.
